Supporting The Log Cabin Charity
Ealing 135 has a long history of raising money for local charities. Whenever funds allow, we donate the profits from our key annual events (the Spring Fair, Christmas Fair and Pre-Loved Sales etc.) to a local cause. Charities are nominated by members and voted on by the committee. We aim to support smaller local charities, who might otherwise not come to attention, or larger charities that have particular activities within the borough.
At the last committee meeting, members of Ealing 135 voted to support The Log Cabin Charity in Northfields, Ealing, as our chosen charity for 2020.
About The Log Cabin Charity:
The Log Cabin Charity in Northfield Avenue, Ealing provides a setting where children and young people with additional needs or disabilities can socialise, grow and have fun alongside their mainstream peers
Children and young people with additional needs and disabilities often remain isolated from others and excluded from mainstream facilities. The Log Cabin Charity is inclusive, welcoming mainstream siblings and local children and integrating everyone so that they socialise together, make new friends and form friendship groups, regardless of ability and of whether they have emotional, physical, behavioural or learning disabilities.
Children come to After School Club, Holiday Playschemes, Saturday Club and Start2gether - Stay and Play sessions. We also offer a counselling service to young people aged 11+ and to parents and carers.
Below you can watch their video which explains their work for the residents of the borough of Ealing.
